Society for Strain Measurement Annual Conference. This year the topic is
AUTOMATED STRAIN MEASUREMENT AND ANALYSIS. The conference will include a
dedicated section on Strain Measurement in Biomechanics.

measurement, including both laboratory testing and on-site monitoring.
Contributions describing novel applications and the more modern data
processing techniques would be particularly welcome.
Papers are invited in the following subject areas:
Biomechanics
Condition monitoring
Case Studies
Strain data acquisition and processing
Dynamic loading phenomena
Experimental fracture mechanics
Impact, shock, and other transient effects
Optical stress/strain analysis techniques
Residual stress measurements
Thermoelasticity
Vibration measurements
And other related studies.
The conference deadlines are as follows:
Submission of abstracts 1st March 1995
Preliminary acceptance 1st April 1995
Submission of short papers (3 pages) 1st June 1995
Final Programme 1st July 1995
