DIRECTOR OF SPORTS MEDICINE & ATHLETIC TRAINING
ACADEMIC PROGRAM
East Carolina University seeks a Director for the Sports Medicine/Athletic
Training Academic Program in the School of Health and Human
Performance, Department of Health Education.Screening begins March 27,
1995 for this twelve month, tenure-track position at theAssistant/Associate
Professor level and will continue until the position is filled.
Responsibilities include administering an NATA-approved undergraduate
athletic trainingprogram; teaching undergraduate courses in athletic training
and possibly in other areas;supervising athletic training practicums;
engaging in research/creative activity; and workingcooperatively with the
Head Athletic Trainer.
Qualifications: Earned doctorate in a Health and Human Performance sub-
discipline or relatedfield, NATA certification, experience in teaching and
supervising student athletic trainers, andevidence of research capability.
CPR Instructor certification and previous administrativeexperience with
either undergraduate or graduate NATA-approved athletic training
curriculumdesired.
