  • range of motion for children

    Dear Biomech-L-ers,

To determine safety standards for little children (from birth
to 4 years old), I am working on a study concerning the
reachability or reach envelopes. For this study I am looking
for literature about the ranges of motion (ROM) of the most
important joints (e.g. shoulder and hip). Until now I only
have found one article about the ROM's of children (Hupprich &
Sigerseth, Res Quart 21 (1950) p.25), showing the ROM's for
girls between 6 and 12 years old.
Does anybody know sources where I can found the effect of age
    on the ROM's?

    Thanks in advance,

    Guus van der Vaart (A.J.M.vanderVaart@IO.TUDelft.NL)
