My sincerest thanks to all of you who responded to my request for
info on Balance and Motor Control. Here is a summary of the
information I received:
BALANCE AND MOTOR CONTROL
Kandel, Schwartz & Jessell (1991) Principles of Neural Science. This
has a good chapter on posture (Ch 39) by Claude Ghez. This refers to
the definitive work of Nashner et al, whose groupp designed the
forerunner to the Balance Master postural assessment equipment which
allows postural control to be assessed while controlling various
sensory inputs. (Special thanks to Greg Anson in New Zealand)
Note: The Neurocom Pro Balance Master is the commercial version of
Lewis Nasher's equipment - Dr C Kirtley in Australia commented that
he uses one in his laboratory. [ ikirtley@info.curtin.edu.au ]
