Dear BIOMCH-L subscribers,
A tragic (in my eyes) misunderstanding has obviously occured regarding
the chain letter that was distributed via BIOMCH-L earlier today.
I must therefore state that
I HAVE NO CONNECTION WITH THE CHAIN LETTER OR THE DISTRIBUTION
THEREOF.
What I did was to forward to the list a mail message written by the
author of the chain letter, where he or she apologizes for starting the
whole thing and asks whoever has a copy NOT to distribute it further.
Again: ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS TO STOP SOMETHING THAT I DID'T START (AND
THAT NOONE ELSE SHOULD HAVE STARTED EITHER).
I write in capital letters because I have received a rather harsh mail
from one of the BIOMCH-L subscribers, with the following content:
> Your withdrawal is too little too late. You should have used your
> head and thought before you posted such junk on the listserver. The
> best thing for you to do is REMOVE YOURSELF from the list !
>
> I will contact your dept. chairperson to see if we can have you
> punished in some way for starting such junk on the email.
In general I agree with the above, except that the rebuker should be
careful to address the right person, of course.
