MEETING:
The 9th International Conference on Mechanics in Medicine and Biology will
be held in Ljubljana, Slovenia from July 1-5, 1996.
The conference follows its predecessors in Aaachen (1978), Osaka (1980),
Compiegne (1982), Buffalo (1984), Bologna (1986), San Antonio (1988),
Portschach (1991), and Amsterdam (1994).
The conference is planned to promote the full scope of theoretical and
experimental mechanics in the field of medical and biological engineering.
The conference is intended to attract not only scientists and specialists
but also clinical engineers, physicists, metallurgists, medical doctors,
physical therapists, biologists, allied health personnel and
representatives of medical equipment industry.
DEADLINES:
Submission of final camera-ready papers: February 1, 1996
Acceptance notification: May 1, 1996
Conference: July 1-5, 1996
LOCATION:
Ljubljana is the capital of the Republic of Slovenia, and is the cultural,
scientific, and commercial center with the University with 24,000 students.
It is surrounded by outstandingly beautiful countryside of amazing
variety: the Alpine region with mountains and lakes; the wine growing
lowlands of Dolenjska and Stajerska; the Carst region with underground
stone-lace; and the seaside with a lovely Mediterranean climate and fresh
