Just a quick word of advice. I don't think you'll have much success with
retroreflective paint. Basically, the paint contains small glass beads
which provide the retroreflective property. When used on large surfaces,
and when applied in a uniform fashion, the paint will provide a good
retroreflective surface. However, when you try to do the job with a
small brush the beads tend to clump together, and the adhesive/paint
tends to cover the beads. The result is generally a very non-uniform,
non retroreflective spot--at best. If you do manage to create a surface,
the animals will probably find a way to scratch off the small glass beads.
You can buy the paints from 3M, but if you can talk sweetly, try your
local highway Department!! You may find that the highway department
keeps the paint and beads as separate entities, the latter being added
after the paint has been applied. (They do this with a spray gun.)
If you still want to try this, and you can't get the material locally,
send me a note.
