    I strongly believe that the attitude that it does not matter which direction x,y or z lies is a very narrow one.

    It is fine for those like me who practice in this area, in which case the co-ordinate systems are easily
    transferred.

    But the vast majority who benefit from our research are not the practitioners, they are the less specialised
    surgeons, physiotherapists, engineers and PATIENTS.

    We owe it to them to reduce the complexity of our studies.

    We can contribute to this by agreeing on an International Standard.
