PRINCIPAL RESEARCH FELLOW
The School of Physiotherapy is actively conducting research programs in a
number of areas including movement science, sports injuries, muscle
performance, kinaesthesia, cardiopulmonary factors in exercise, and the
assessment and management of musculoskeletal and neurological disorders.
The School is seeking to appoint an established, active researcher, who is
not required to, but may be a physiotherapist, to participate in the
research development of the School. The appointee will be responsible for
increasing the level of high quality external research grant applications
and acquisitions in priority research areas in the School. The appointee
will also be responsible for evaluating and developing research
infrastructure of the School, conducting research in areas related to the
School's research priorities and acting as a mentor to academic staff for
the purpose of the development of expertise in research and in student
supervision.
Applicants will be expected to have an established record as a researcher,
expertise in an area of research related to one or more of the School's
research priorities and an established research grant record in the health
or related sciences context from relevant granting bodies, particularly
Commonwealth competitive granting bodies. It would be desirable for
candidates to have recent research experience working with physiotherapy
researchers, current research grants and expertise in research student
supervision.
The School has a well equipped suite of research laboratories with technical
support. Further expansion of the research facility is planned. These and
various administrative facilities would be available to the successful
candidate.
The term of the appointment is for two years, with the possibility of a
renewal for a further two years, subject to need and the availability of
funding.
Salary: $AUD62242-$AUD68571.
