AI-MEDICINE MAILING LIST
AI-Medicine is an unmoderated mailing list serving internet
and bitnet domains since Sept., 1990. Current readership con-
sists mainly of computer scientists and engineers with inte-
rest in biomedical and clinical research, and of physicians
with interest in medical informatics and artificial intel-
ligence.
AI in Medicine is a broad subject area which encompasses
almost all research areas in artificial intelligence. For the
purposes of this mailing list, AI in Medicine may be defined
as "computed-based medical decision support" (or "computer-as-
sisted medical decision making"). This definition may be
expanded to include AI-based approaches to computer-assisted
medical instruction. According to this definition, topics such
as billing systems and hospital/medical office information
retrieval systems clearly remain outside the scope of this
forum.
A moderated version of the list, in digest format, is also
available on request.
Who may join: any individual or organization with internet or
bitnet mailing addresses may join.
