treadmill compliance and oxygen uptake

I'm a graduate student beginning my thesis research at Western
/washingtontopic is
the relationship between "soft" versus "hard" treadmills and variations

on
oxygen consumption while running on the two treadmill types. I've
scoured the literature for related studies, but have only been able to
come up with two similar articles so far. I would be very interested to
know if anyone out there is either conducting similar research, or has an
article in press that relates to this topic. If the latter, I'd be very
interested to find out where/when the article wi
