  • SCTPLS Annual Conference Update

    Because of our interest in expanding the conference, together with
    several requests for an extension of the deadline for the call for
    papers, the Call for the SCTPLS annual conference has been extended
    to April 15, 1996.

    Those who have submitted abstracts already will be contacted soon.
    Regular registration materials will be circulated later this month
    as initially planned.

    CALL FOR PAPERS
    SIXTH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF

    THE SOCIETY FOR CHAOS THEORY IN PSYCHOLOGY & LIFE SCIENCES

    June 25-28, 1996. University of California, Berkeley
    (San Francisco Bay Area)


    Papers and programs are now requested pertaining to applications
    of chaos theory, fractals, nonlinear dynamics and related principles
    applied to any of the various psychological subdisciplines, neuro-
    science, biology, physiology and other areas of medical research,
    economics, sociology, anthropology, physics, political science,
    organizations and their management, other business applications
    education, art, philosophy, and literature.

    Submissions may be single papers, symposia, roundtable or salon
    programs. Subject matter may be theoretical, empirical or methodology
    oriented.

    Proposals should be submitted by FEBRUARY 28 to:

    This year's conference will preceed the American Psychological
    Society's annual conference in San Francisco, June 29 - July 2.


    Special Guest Speakers

    There will be two plenary lectures by:

    RALPH ABRAHAM, University of California, Santa Cruz, and
    JAMES CRUTCHFIELD, University of California, Berkeley


    Workshops

    Introductory, Advanced, and topical workshops in nonlinear dynamics
    and their applications will take place before and after the conference.
    More details on these workshops will be forthcoming.

    Location, Accommodations, and Registration

    Berkeley has 40 bed spaces in double occupancy suites (meaning
    private bathrooms) plus residence hall rooms (meaning hallway
    bathroom) on the Clark Kerr campus. It is a beautiful spot, enclosed
    and sheltered from the rest of the campus though within walking
    distance. BOOKINGS FOR THESE ACCOMMODATIONS WILL BE MADE THROUGH
    THE SOCIETY. REGISTRATION INFORMATION WILL FOLLOW AT A LATER DATE.

    Please note: All presenters much register for the conference.

    Lodging & Meal Package

    The package below includes meals and housing June 24-28 (includes
    a pre-conference day for those desiring one). Meals begin with
    dinner on the 24th, end with lunch on the 28th.

    Please note that there will be a banquet on the second night of
    the conference, the fee for which is included in the registration
    fee.
