Dear Biomch-L readers,
Following Ton van den Bogert's note today (which we discussed before
between the two of us), I'd like to add that we shall attempt to notify
the relevant postmaster whenever we decide to set one of you to NOMAIL.
For Internet sites, this is straightforward because the user_id postmaster
usually applies; for EARN/BITNET/NETNORTH, this is slightly more involved,
since we must send the request GET NODENTRY site_id to NETSERV@HEARN.BITNET.
The reply will provide us with the name and email address of the relevant
contact person(s). Of course, the above presupposes that only the user_id
of the subscriber fails; if his site (or some gateway to it) fails, we are
really in trouble.
With kind regards, and wishing you a sunny and otherwise pleasant weekend,
Herman J. Woltring, Eindhoven/NL
