    Dear Fellow Subscriber

    Participation In Research Project

This posting serves to request your participation in a PhD research
project titled "Responses to postgraduate research proposals in Human
Movement Studies". As the title implies, the project will attempt to
assess responses, from professionals in HMS & allied disciplines,
regarding the adequacy of selected research proposals. As such the
research is primarily targeted at members of staff at academic
    institutions or research institutes.

Please note that this posting does not form part of the formal research
response. IF YOU ARE WILLING TO RESPOND, PLEASE E-MAIL ME DIRECT AND I
WILL FORWARD THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS TO YOU.

You will be asked to provide biographical information, read one or more
research proposals, and comment on their adequacy as per the evaluation
document. WHEN YOU REPLY TO THIS INITIAL POST, PLEASE INDICATE WHICH OF
THE FOLLOWING PAPERS YOU WOULD LIKE TO COMMENT ON:
Sports Science/Exercise Physiology, Perceptual & Motor Skills, Exercise
Science, Ergonomics, Biomechanics. Please note though that some of the
proposals are difficult to neatly categorise in a sub-discipline, and
that overlap exits. You are of course welcome to comment on more than
one, or all of the projects.

All biographical and comment information will be kept strictly
confidential. The only persons with access to the information will be
myself and Prof J Charteris, (Head: HMS Dept, Rhodes University). If the
data are published, no names or institutions will be used. Participants
will be furnished with a report on the research.

Due to e-mail routing, you may receive the documents in incorrect order.
Please note that the order should be as follows: (1) Research Project,
    (2) Reply/Questionnaire, (3) Comment, (4) Relevant Research Project/s.

    Apologies for any typographical errors.

Should you wish to receive hard copy, please let me know via e-mail, or
    fax 27-351-93916.

Your co-operation would be greatly appreciated.

    Yours sincerely

    Steve Olivier
