    THIRD RUSSIAN CONFERENCE ON BIOMECHANICS

    CONFERENCE TOPICS

    Section 1. General biomechanics: General problems, cellular
    mechanics and cellular mobility, rheology of biological
    liquids and tissues, tissues and tissue contraction,
    biomechanics of internal organs and systems,
    organism's motions and their control, strength of
    tissues and organs, mechanics of growth and adaptation
    processes, etc.

    Section 2. Medical biomechanics: Biomechanical aspects of medical
    diagnostics, medical treatment, surgical operations, and
    rehabilitation; maintenance of the attitude; man's
    motions and gait in pathology; biomechanics of a spinal
    column; biomechanical means and methods for care of
    mother's and child's health; biomechanical

    Section 3. Sporting Biomechanics: Biomechanical principles of the
    synthesis and optimization of athletic motions;
    phychomotorics; biomechanics of popular physical culture;
    biomechanics of self-defence and wresting.

    Section 4. Engineering biomechanics: Mathematical and physical
    simulation in biomechanics; man's protective means;
    robots, anthropomorphic and zoomorphic systems; software
    and hardware complexes in biomechanics; biomechanics of
    human objective environment; problems of prosthetics and
    ortosthetics; medical, pedagogical, sport, industrial
    aspects of biomechanics.

    SUBMISSION OF REPORTS
    The abstract in Russian or in English, in triplicate, should
    be submitted to the Organizing Committee.
    Your abstract and registration form should enter the
    Organizing Committee before April 30, 1996. In any case, delays
    should be coordinated with the Organizing Committee.
    Advertisement of your products can be placed in the Abstracts
    Book (price: $ 100 for 1 page).
    The abstract (2 pages or less) should be typed one and a half
    spacing in standard letters, on a lazer printer, maximum 42 lines
    on the page and 60 characters in the line, including the title of
    the report and the names of the authors. Figures or drawings are
    not allowed.

    Official languages of the Conference are Russian and English.

    PLACE OF THE CONFERENCE
    The city of Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.
    Nizhny Novgorod is one of the largest scientific, industrial,
    cultural and historical centre of Russia. It is situated on the
    banks of Volga and Oka rivers (at their confluence): 28 km along
    the Oka`s banks and 30 km along the Volga`s hilly bank. Its
    population totals 1.5 mln. Air temperature in October might range
    from - 3 to + 7 C, occasional rain and wet snow.
