    THE INTERNATIONAL SHOULDER GROUP

The International Shoulder Group is a collaboration of mostly biomechanically
oriented research groups, which main interest is in the shoulder. The goal of
the International Shoulder Group is to enhance shoulder research by exchanging
ideas, methodologies, data and results. This goal is achieved by regularly
meetings (mostly at major Biomechanics Conferences), exchange of preprints and
PhD-theses, exchange of researchers and frequent contacts by electronic media.
Now, the International Shoulder Group can be found at the WWW as well:

    http://www-mr.wbmt.tudelft.nl/schouder/isg/isg.html

The International Shoulder Group has started at the Congress of the
International Society of Biomechanics at UCLA (Los Angeles) in 1989. At the
moment, about 20 research groups totalling 35 individual researchers have been
enlisted. Names and contact adresses can be found through the web-site. Each
research group is encouraged to link their own web-site to this page. The
International Shoulder Group will apply as an official 'technical group' to
the International Society of Biomechanics (ISB) at the next conference held
    in Japan in 1997.
The first official meeting of the International Shoulder Group will be at a
symposium organised by the Dutch Shoulder Group (Delft University of
Technology, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, University Hospital Leiden). This
symposium will be an official pre-congres to the meeting of the European
Society of Biomechanics in Leuven, Belgium. The dates of the symposium are
August 26 and 27, 1996. The location will be at the Delft University of
Technology, The Netherlands. The symposium is open to all interested
researchers, though members of the International Shoulder Group have the first
    privilege.
