  • Image processing handbooks ??

    Hello Biomch-L Readers,

I'd like to get a good handbook about image processing.
This book should combine both good theoretical explanation and
implmentation (with C code if possible).

I am especially interested in image and edge enhancement (e.g., Sobel
operator, Frei and Chen algorithm ...) and image sub-sampling.

The three following books seem to be adequate.

    1-Lindley, C.A. (1991).
Practical image processing in C. New York: John Wiley & Sons.
    2-Myler, H.R., and Weeks, A.R. (1993).
Computer imaging recipes in C. Englewood Cliffs, NJ: Prentice-Hall.
    3-Pitas, I. (1993).
Digital image processing algorithms. Englewood Cliffs, NJ: Prentice-Hall

    So, my questions are:

a- If you know one of these books, would you recommend it and why?
b- Do you know any other handbook that seems to fit the above description?

Thank you very much for any clue!!
