Hi, all:
I posted a info request on "foot strike". Here is the summary. Thanks.

Hi, all:
Currently, I am studying the effects of foot strike on the whole body energy
absorption during walking. The amount was found from dynamic modeling.
To verify our model results, experimental findings would be appreciated.
Does anyone know any related experiments and/or model results? A summary on
the topic will be posted.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Cheng,
So nice to hear what you are doing! This sounds a lot like what I had
horrible problems with in my masters thesis! In fact, for a long time I
thought wanted to look at a more simplified motor control problem: landing.
This may be an area you want to check out.
Here's some refs you might think are informative:

Dear Cheng Cao,
I saw your posting on Biomch-l, (9th April). Although I cannot help
you regarding experimental data, I too am doing some dynamic
modelling, mainly in take-off, (jumping, diving). Thus, I was
wondering if it would be possible to establish some dialogue
regarding the techniques you are using etc.
I am utilising Kane's Equations of motion and then using inverse
dynamics to determine the parameters of the system. I have written
my own procedures using MAPLE.
What techniques are you using? What software are you using? What
problems/benefits/etc have you found?
I have carried out my own experiments for my modelling and am also
currently trying to validate my model.
Look forward to hearing from you,
Shane Preston
