    JOYNER SPORTSMEDICINE INSTITUTE, Inc., a recognized leader in orthopedic and
    sports rehabilitation is looking for a Director of Biomechanical Research to
    develop an exciting research environment at a company noted for innovation
    in physical therapy and excellence in patient care. This position will head
    up a new research foundation to be based out of Lexington, KY. Since this
    is a new position and a new entity, this position is viewed as a very
    dynamic, ever-changing one.

    The 'Mission" of the Research Foundation is to utilize the most current
    research in the respective domains of Sports Medicine: Orthopaedics,
    Physical Therapy, Athletic Training, Biomechanics, and Exercise Physiology
    to advance the treatment and enhance the performance and functional outcomes
    of both athletes and non-athletes alike. Further, it is the goal of the
    'Research Foundation' to produce research that is functionally relevant to
    all domains and can be readily used by those working in each of those
    domains to improve the quality of life of those people who seek our service.
    To this end, the 'Research Foundation' shall strive to produce physical
    research related to optimum performance of the human body, optimum training
    techniques, and control of both external and internal forces acting on the
    human body. The work of the 'Research Foundation' shall help to advance and
    guide the clinical model of the field of Sports Medicine and all of its
    disciplines.

    Position responsibilities include the following:
    1. Develop a research environment and policies and procedures with the
    assistance of the C.O.O. and through the B.O.D.
    2. Work with the C.O.O. and the B.O.D. of the Research Foundation to
    establish
    6 and 12 month goals.
    3. Plan for acquisition of new equipment and utilization of existing
    equipment
    specifically to meet the goals of planned research.
    4. Work with UK research lab on equipment use and joint projects.
    5. Coordinate and drive research projects using C.O.O. as a resource and to
    help coordinate the role of Kentucky Sports Medicine MD's, JOYNER
    SPORTSMEDICINE employees, and others interested in joint projects.

    Qualifications include a PhD in Biomechanics, Physical Therapy or Anatomy,
    three to five years of research experience in an education or medical
    setting with an orientation towards sports medicine or movement science.
