    Papers are solicited on new developments in theory, concepts,
    applications and techniques in ALL facets of biomedical engineering.
    Attendance and professional program paper presentations by individuals from
    the USA and the entire world are encouraged and welcomed.

    The 16th Southern Biomedical Engineering Conference (SBEC) is being held at
    the beautiful Broadwater Beach Resort and Hotel in Biloxi, MS. The hotel,
    in addition to providing ample and comfortable meeting space, is located
    directly on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. The Hotel also offers to its
    guests, golfing, tennis, and swimming facilities, as well as information on
    local attractions and local tourist activities.

    Undergraduate and graduate students as well as medical/dental students and
    residency candidates are encouraged to submit papers. Several awards will
    be given to honor the best papers/ presentations in each student category.
    Please indicate on your abstract your student status and if you wish your
    paper to be considered for a student award. STUDENT AWARDS WILL BE MADE
    BASED ON BOTH A FINAL MANUSCRIPT AND PRESENTATION OF PAPER IN A POSTER
    SESSION.

    Submit a 500 word single spaced abstract in English, full justified, with
    one inch margins. Skip one line between paragraphs. Printing should be done
    with a 12 point or greater size font to allow high quality reproduction.
    Students may submit original work for either a podium or poster
    presentation. NOTE: ONLY PAPERS BY STUDENTS SUBMITTED FOR PRESENTATION IN
    THE POSTER FORMAT WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR STUDENT AWARDS.
