the West Coast, has an immediate opening for the director of a
well-established Orthopedic Research Center and Motion Analysis
Laboratory. The lab is being enlarged and we plan expansion into
multiple areas of musculoskeletal research, including spine, hip, and
sports, etc.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an energetic, analytical and
adaptable individual experienced in biomechanics, motion analysis,
musculoskeletal and experimental research. The successful candidate will
be responsible for the clinical operation of the Motion Analysis
Laboratory and will direct a multidisciplinary staff. Applicants should
have a doctoral degree in biomechanics, engineering, or other field
related to musculoskeletal research, along with a proven record in
experimental research and data collection, research design, grant
writing, obtaining funding and grant management. Expertise in gait
analysis is preferred, but not required. The individual should be
eligible for and interested in pursuing a faculty appointment at the
University of California, San Diego, and would work with leading
innovators in the field of orthopedic research.
