DIRECTOR of
REHABILITATION ENGINEERING PROGRAM
The National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH), a nationally recognized
comprehensive specialty hospital located in the nation's capitol, is seeking
a highly motivated individual to assume the role of Director, Rehabilitation
Engineering/Assistive Technology.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and personable leader with
a commitment to providing high quality services to patients and clinicians,
and have a proven track record of funded research in assistive technology.
The candidate must have the ability to provide the creative development and
administrative supervision of programs and services that implement the
utilization of technology for improving patient performance. The candidate
should have a master's degree or higher in engineering or related field and
a minimum of 5 years experience in
research and management.
Join this exciting and highly visible program. The rehabilitation staff
works as part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team in providing seating and
positioning services, augmentative communication services, environmental
control system services, computer access, and home and worksite
accommodations.
The Rehabilitation Engineering Program also encompasses a performance
diagnostic laboratory (PDL) which offers ample scope for both clinical and
research opportunities. The PDL is also home to the Assistive Technology
Research Center, a federally funded center responsible for conducting
quality research for the purpose of benefiting persons with disabilities.
The Rehabilitation Engineering Program offers national exposure to the
successful candidate who will be directing a center of national
significance.
