    TENURE-TRACK
    FACULTY POSITION
    BIOMEDICAL ENGINEER/BIOMECHANIST
    ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
    PHYSICAL MEDICINE & REHABILITATION
    and ORTHOPEDICS
    SCHOOL OF MEDICINE
    NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY

The Departments of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Orthopedics
of Northwestern University Medical School jointly offer a tenure-track
position at the Assistant Professor level for a Biomedical
Engineer/Biomechanist to participate in ongoing, collaborative research
    projects between the two departments.

The faculty appointee will be expected to participate in studies
dealing with mechanical and reflex characteristics of neurologically
impaired limbs, primarily in subjects with brain and spinal cord injury,
and in studies concerning mechanisms governing stability of both normal
and injured joints, especially knee joints sustaining injuries to cruciate
or collateral ligaments. Both research areas require a solid knowledge of
limb biomechanics and of associated neural control mechanisms. Experience
in systems identification of neuromuscular systems is an advantage.

    Minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. in Bioengineering/Biomechanics, or a
related discipline, together with a minimum of two years of postdoctoral
training. A history of prior successful grant acquisition is a plus. The
position is offered at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position is
full-time and offered for a three-year renewable term. Starting date and
    salary are negotiable.

To submit applications, please provide a C.V., statement of interest,
and names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses (if available) of
at least four referees who can evaluate your qualifications and
suitability for the position. Applications and inquiries should be
    addressed to:
