SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH TECHNICIAN
Neuroscience of Human Balance
A full-time Research Technician's position is currently open in a
neuroscience research laboratory at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital &
Medical Center in Portland, Oregon. The research focus of the laboratory
is the control of stance and balance. The position is funded by federal
research grants.
Position: Full time
Salary Range: $20,342-$30,492
Start Date: September 16, 1996
Duties: o Analyze data using Matlab programming and others on Macintosh
and UNIX computers (60%)
o Recruit, schedule & test research subjects on state-of-the-art
human balance testing device (20%)
o Assist with design & development of data analysis (10%)
o Graphics preparation for scientific papers & presentations (10%)
Requirements:
o BS/MS in science or engineering (biomechanics or kinesiology is
ideal)
o Good communication skills
Desirable:
o Experience with computer programming, Matlab and
laboratory research.
