MEDICAL DESIGN ENGINEER=20
The Orthopaedic Research Institute, Inc. (ORI) of Wichita is seeking a
design/development engineer to conduct innovative studies aimed at=20
translating clinical/surgical needs of Orthopaedics and other healthcare
related technology into marketable devices, products, implants, and=20
related instrumentation. Qualified individuals will have a Master*s
degree in Mechanical Engineering with experience in finite element
modeling, CAD, (ANSYS) prototype development and testing, and patenting
of devices. Experience specifically in orthopaedics and in manufacturing
would also be desirable. Leadership ability and creative collaboration
with orthopaedic surgeons and other healthcare personnel will be
essential.=20
ORI is a not-for-profit component of Via Christi Health System, the
largest health system in Kansas, and includes an established research
program and strong programs in resident education, especially in
orthopaedics. These programs are affiliated with the University of =
Kansas
School of Medicine-Wichita and collaborations are ongoing with the
engineering colleges at Wichita State University, the University of
Missouri-Columbia, Colorado State University, and with international
medical device manufacturers. =20
