  • Assistant Professor (tenure-track) POSITION OPENINGS

    Position: Exercise Science/Athletic Training, Assistant
    Professor (Tenure track)

    Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Physical Education/Exercise
    Science preferred, ABD considered. Experience
    teaching sports medicine, exercise leadership,
    physiology and anatomy, and athletic training
    courses and experience supervising exercise
    science practica and internship placement and
    supervision at the university level.
    Established record of scholarly activity is
    desirable with a strong commitment to research
    necessary. Current NATABOC certification
    preferred. K-12 teaching experience

    Duties: Teach sports medicine, exercise leadership,
    physiology and anatomy, and athletic training;
    supervise exercise science practica and
    internship placement; conduct research and
    participate in scholarly activity; advise
    students; provide departmental, college,
    university, and professional service. It is
    expected that all newly hired faculty possess
    microcomputer literacy and research knowledge
    that would allow them to teach in these areas
    as well.

    Salary: Salary is competitive and commensurate with
    qualifications and experience.

    Starting Date: August 18, 1997

    Program: The Physical Education Program is within the
    School of Health, Physical Education, and
    Recreation in the College of Education. The
    program offers bachelor's and master's degrees
    with specializations in pedagogy, exercise
    science, coaching, and athletic training. The
    School of HPER is located in a modern facility
    containing well equipped laboratories and
    activity spaces. Each faculty member has a
    personal computer and direct access to the
    College of Education and University networks.
