    Program Description
True understanding of lumbo pelvic pain, must be based on understanding the
functional synergies between torso, pelvis, legs and arms. This credo was the
rationale for organizing the First and Second Interdisciplina-ry World
Congresses on Low Back Pain in 1992 and 1995. During these two congresses
experts from all over the world convened in La Jolla, California, to add to our
rapidly expanding understanding of the many causes that can lead to low back
pain. The Third Interdisciplinary World Congress on the topic is scheduled for
November 1998 and will be held in Vienna, Austria. Our goal is to further
refine the scientific knowledge underpinning the working models conceived
    earlier.

    Call for papers:
Presentations by leading clinicians and researchers are planned for the main
sessions. The Scientific Committee would like to invite original abstracts on
both technical and clinical topics, preferably but not necessarily limited to
the ones listed in this announcement for additional oral presentation, poster
presentati-on and workshops. You may forward your abstract, not exceeding one
page, including drawings and photographs before December 31, 1997, to European
Conference Organizers, P.O.Box 4334, 3006 AH Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
Clearly state your name, address, day time phone and fax number. Also indicate
whether you would like your abstract to be reviewed for oral presentation,
    poster presentation or workshop.
