POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE POSITION AVAILABLE
The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Cardiology at
the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry is
seeking applicants for the position of Research Associate in the
area of biomechanics of the embryonic heart. This individual will
work with a team of investigators as part of an NIH-funded Specialized
Center of Research in Pediatric Cardiovascular Disease. Current
areas of biomechanical study involve the passive and active
properties of embryonic myocardium, microinstrumentation, control
and measurement techniques, and creation and analysis of elastic
and viscoelastic models. Individuals should have experience in
experimentation with biological tissue; a combination of
experimental and theoretical/computational modeling experience
is particularly desirable.
The candidate should have a recent Ph.D. in mechanical or
biomedical engineering or a related field in the physical sciences.
This position is available immediately for a two-year duration,
with longer tenure dependent upon future funding and the candidate's
interest. Salary information will be provided upon inquiry and
