    CAMARN TEACHING WORKSHOP
"Movement Analysis and Clinical Assessment of Motor Disability:
    Standardisation Issues"

Colli del Tronto (AP) - Italy - 10 to 15 of February, 1997

Organized by: University of Ancona and Consortium TSR - Italy

    Objectives

Aim of this Teaching Workshop is to diffuse among the scientific and
clinical communities the results obtained in the last five years for the
harmonisation of clinical protocols and for the standardisation of
experimental protocols and of data management, interpretation and
(tele)communication in the context of the Functional Evaluation of motor
    disorders.
Standardisation of clinical and experimental protocol is recognised as a
necessity for Clinical Rehabilitation to obtain communicability and
comparability of data in order to evaluate different Rehabilitation
procedures and to allow sharing of expertise among different Rehabilitation
    centres. In
such a framework the use of teleconsultation will promote the growth of
formalised knowledge that can help the clinical decision making process.
This teaching workshop is organised under the aegis of CAMARN, a CEC DG XII
project, which has created a network of laboratories to train number of
    young researchers in Movement Analysis.
The scientific background of CAMARN comes from other European projects,
    namely CAMARC-II
    and BRITER.

The CAMARN network is composed by :
    - Roessingh Research and Development, Enschede, The Netherlands
    - Department of Physiotherapy, University College, Dublin, Ireland
    - Department of Electronics and Automatics, University of Ancona,Italy
    - Laboratory of Biomedical Kinanthropology, Catholic University, Leuven, Belgium
    - Department of Medical Informatics and Image Analysis, University of Aalborg,
    Denmark
    - Institute for Biomechanics, German Sports University, Cologne, Germany
    - Bioengineering Unit, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK
    - INSERM Unite 103, Montpellier, France

    Who should Apply

Health care operators (clinicians and therapists) convinced of the need of
integrating Movement Analysis in clinical practice; bioengineers involved
in the assessment and treatment of motor disability, health care managers,
interested in the opportunities open by Telematics.
