Dear Biomch-L subscribers:
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Recently, a friend of mine has asked me how big the force acting on a =
body falling into the water is. Let's say, an elite diver from 10-m =
platform?
I may videotape the underwater motion of the diver to compute the =
acceleration of the body CM. It will give me some direct figure of the =
force (mass * acceleration).
But there should be simpler methods to roughly figure out the max force =
or acceleration experienced by the diver with upright posture. What =
would you recommend? Any scientific comments or references are welcome.
Thanks in advance!
