SPORTS ENGINEER
The Bioengineering Laboratory of the Department of Orthopaedics, Rhode
Island Hospital/ Brown University is seeking an individual with interest
and expertise in the bioengineering aspects of sports, specifically injury
prevention. The ideal candidate would have a strong background in
experimental bioengineering, an interest in sports, and welcome the
opportunity to participate both in laboratory experiments and in practical
applications of basic science to sports injury prevention. The position is
funded in part by the National Operating Committee on Standards for
Athletic Equipment. NOCSAE is the major standard setting organization for
high school and collegiate protective sports equipment. Candidates would
ideally be post-doctoral fellows. Those with a masters in engineering and
substantial laboratory experience will also be considered.
