I am a mechanical engineering, PhD student at Case Western Reserve =
University working with Dr. Mark Grabiner at the Cleveland Clinic =
Foundation.
There is a tendency among investigators, in analyzing EMG - force =
relationship , to rectify and smooth the EMG signal. The force curve is =
then overlayed with this new EMG curve; thus assuming that the time =
differences between the two curves are constant. Does anyone know =
where/with whom this procedure began? Is this procedure valid?
As it is customary on this list, a summary of replies will be posted.
