We're ready to go public with a site devoted to sport science, but first we'd
like a few volunteers to give the site a thorough test. We need people to
click on the links, download some of the documents, view slides, print
lecture notes, and import references into Endnote or similar. It might take
you half an hour or so to do the job well.

There's heaps of interesting pages at the site. If you can help out,
you'll be amongst the first to see...

NEWS. A monthly magazine. The first month's features include an article
about EPO by Steve Seiler, a report on a nutrition conference by Louise
Burke, Ken Daley's Moving Together newsletter, Frank Katch's look back at a
    famous exercise scientist, and more.

FORUM. Recent Sportscience mail list messages, plus easy ways to do
searches for previous messages, send a new message, subscribe or
    unsubscribe.

JOURNAL. A trial format for an electronic journal devoted to sport
science, including general guidelines on style and specific guidelines for
    writing reviews.

RESEARCH RESOURCES. Things for researchers and research students, starting
with How To Give Talks: lecture notes, slides, and a bit of humour on this
    useful topic.

TRAINING & TECHNOLOGY. Peer-reviewed reviews mainly for athletes and coaches.
We kick off with a look at Strength Shoes.

NET LINKS. Click to get links to sport and exercise science elsewhere on
the Net, sorted into easy-to-use categories.

NET SEARCH. Look no further for the best place to start your search of the
Net. We explain and provide search forms for Altavista, WhoWhere, and
    more.

OK, how can you help? Email me with the following information:

    Computer (IBM or Mac):
    Model (486, LCIII etc):
Web browser (Netscape 2, Internet Explorer 3 etc):

I will then send you the URL (http://...) for the site. When you have tried
out the site, I expect you to email me with your comments and any bugs you
    have discovered.

Oh, please note that you've got to have a Web browser that handles frames,
which means Netscape 2 or preferably Netscape 3. If you try opening our
site with a browser that can't handle frames, you will be prompted to
connect to the Netscape site to download the latest version of Netscape.
Please don't try visiting our site with Internet Explorer 2, because it
mucks up the spacing on your screen.

By the way, we're very interested in having more people join the team. We
need some good researchers for the advisory board, and a few more Web-savvy
people to help put the site together. You don't need to understand html,
thanks to Claris HomePage. This is an opportunity to see whether you'd
like to come aboard in time for the public launch.

    Will
