THE NOVEL AWARD FOR FOOT BIOMECHANICS

The International Society of Biomechanics (ISB) has received a gift of
$10,000 from NOVEL Gmbh for a competition to attract outstanding papers in
the area of Foot Biomechanics.
All individuals (including non-members of the ISB) are invited to submit
full manuscripts of original work in this area describing research which
has not been previously published (prior abstract publication IS
permissible). A blind review of entries will be conducted by a jury of
senior members of the ISB who are experts in Foot Biomechanics. Their
decision on the winner will be final.
The closing date for submission is May 15, 1997. The winner will be
notified by July 15, 1997, and the prize will be awarded at the XVI
Congress of the ISB in Tokyo, Japan (August 25-29, 1997). Publication of
the prize winning paper in one of the Journals affiliated with the ISB will
be encouraged.

* The Society reserves the right to reopen the competition if, in the view
of the jury, the submitted manuscripts are not of sufficient quality.
** Manuscripts should be in the format described in the Instructions for
Authors in the journal "Clinical Biomechanics". Publication will be subject
to the normal peer review process.
