The Research Department 5 (Materials - Design - Manufacturing) is
seeking applications for a tenure track position, an
Associate (C3-) Professor in Biomechanics
The Technical University Hamburg-Harburg intends to enlarge its
activities in the area of biomechanics and biomedical engineering,
responding to the increasing demand for research and teaching at the
interface between Medicine and Engineering. We are looking for an
experienced researcher and teacher, who wants to be actively involved in
teaching and post-graduate education, and who is able to provide
continuity of research in this field.
The applicant should promote interdisciplinary co-operation in the
framework of the Biomechanics Centre, which has been established between
the Technical University Hamburg-Harburg and the University Hospital
Eppendorf in 1991. His principal focus of biomechanical research should
be in the area of human hard and soft tissues.
The applicant should have an established record of research and teaching
in the area of biomechanics of the human musculo-skeletal system. His
experience should cover the areas of joint replacement, fracture
treatment and biomaterials. We expect his support in the development of
a new curriculum in medical engineering sciences, active participation
in current or new research activities and close co-operation with
partners from industry.
