Hello Everyone,
I am working with our Campus Police on updating their bi-annual
physical testing. The members currently perform the 1.5 mile run as a part
of the CV endurance component. I understand my question is more
physiological in nature, but is anyone aware of an equivalent over-ground
cycling test? We have bike patrols here, and several officers have
expressed a desire to substitute a cycling test for the run. Currently the
members have no choice but to do the 1.5 mile run. I am aware of the
cycling ergometer tests such as the Astrand cycle test, but would like to
find something the police can do on their own bicycles. Thank you for any
help you'all can provide.
