Meeting Notice: Engineers in Orthopaedics, Marriott San Francisco, 2/11/97
The annual Engineers in Orthopaedics social meeting will on Tuesday,
February 11, 1997 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in conjunction with the
Orthopaedic Research Society Meeting in San Francisco. The Engineers in
Orthopaedics social will be held in the Club Room of the Marriott San
Francisco Hotel which is adjacent to the Moscone North Convention Center
and about 2 blocks from the ORS host hotel, the Palace. (Unfortunately
there were no rooms of sufficient size available in the Palace Hotel, but
the Marriott is in close walking distance - so please don't let the short
walk prevent you from joining in on the fun.)
Last year's meeting was a big success with over 200 attendees and a good
time was had by all. This year there will again be a complementary hors
d'oeuvres buffet and complementary wine, beer, softdrinks, coffee, and tea.
A cash bar will also be available. Last year's special program was very
well received. In fact, the round of applause that I heard when I
announced at the meeting that our guest speaker canceled at the last minute
due to weather related travel problems was simply overwhelming. Therefore,
this year we will again feature no guest speaker and center only upon a
time for socializing together. If you are an engineer, wish you were an
engineer, or merely enjoy socializing with engineers, please come to the
Engineers in Orthopaedics meeting to relax after a full day of listening to
talks at the ORS.
If you have not received the previous mailing but would like to attend this
meeting, please call or send a fax or email note to Prof. Robert A. Latour

864-656-4466, email: "robert.latour@ces.clemson.edu". We need to have an
estimate of the number of persons planning to attend this event, so I ask
that you please respond by Wednesday, February 5th (or as soon as possible
thereafter).
