    Announcement of Biomechanics Faculty Position

    A tenure-track faculty position in Biomechanics will be available in the
    Department of Physical Education at Brigham Young University for the Fall
    Semester 1998.

    Responsibilities
    Teach lecture and laboratory courses in undergraduate and graduate
    biomechanics with applications focusing on physical therapy, exercise,
    sport and athletic training. Pursue meaningful research in biomechanics
    leading to publications in appropriate journals. Pursue internal and
    external funding to support and enhance teaching and research activities.
    Supervise and guide undergraduate and graduate research projects and
    master's theses and doctoral dissertations. Serve on committees, as assigned.

    Qualifications
    Earned doctorate in the area of Biomechanics. The candidate will be expected
    to teach courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The
    candidate must show evidence of excellent teaching and scholarship in
    biomechanics. The candidate should have a strong research training with the
    ability to conduct both independent and collaborative research in the area
    of Biomechanics. Professional involvement desirable.

    Salary & Rank
    Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

    Starting Date
    August 24, 1998
