  • Kinesiology Textbook: Summary

Here is a summary of replies to my request for recommendations of an
introductory clinical kinesiology text. It's hard to pick a clear winner,
but "Joint Structure and Function" seems to get the nod for functional
anatomy without a lot of hard physics, with Roger Enoka's book as a good
complement. Thanks much to all who replied (recommenders are in parentheses
    after each title)!

"Neuromechanical Basis of Kinesiology" by Roger Enoka (Andy Leger, Steven
    McFaull, Chris McIntyre)

"Joint Structure and Function a Comprehensive Analysis" by Norkin and
Levangie (Mark Linenberg, J. Tim Zipple, Tom King, Juan C. Garbalosa)

    "Biomechanical Basis of Human Movement" by Joe Hamill and Kathleen Knutzen;
Williams and Wilkins, 1995, ISBN 0-683-03863 (Scott P. McLean, Irene
    McClay, Marilyn Miller)

"Kinesiology and Applied Anatomy" by Philip Rasch and Roger Burke (Steven
    McFaull)

"Kinesiology: Application to Pathological Motion" by Soderberg GL; Williams
and Wilkins,1997 (J. Tim Zipple, Vaughan Kippers)

Manual of Structural Kinesiology by Clem Thompson & R.T. Floyd (R.T. Floyd)

"Biomechanics of Human Motion" by Barney LeVeaus (Juan C. Garbalosa)

"BASIC BIOMECHANICS OF THE MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM" by Nordin, M. & Frankel,
V.H. (1989), 2nd EDN. Lea & Febiger, Philadelphia. (Vaughan Kippers)
