BIOMECHANICS RESEARCHER POSITION AVAILABLE
at the School of Human Kinetics, University of Ottawa

Applications are invited for a full time biomechanics researcher to work
with our group to conduct research on skates and skating in a
university/industry research program. We will appoint a person with strong
research skills and the ability to lead the laboratory team in carrying
out an extensive research program.
Qualifications/Responsibilities: a doctoral degree (PhD), proven research
record, experience with instrumentation related to 2D & 3D kinematics
(video systems), foot pressure measurement systems, A/D systems, materials
testing, and EMG. Familiarity with up-to-date biomechanics laboratory
software plus ability to write software to control instrumentation are the
qualities we are seeking. Good laboratory management and organizational
skills (including student supervision and training) are a must.
The ability to communicate in both French and English is an asset.
This position will be available pending funding and starting June or July
1,1997, for a term of one year, renewable for two years. Applications will
be accepted until May 1, 1997.
