    FIRST INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON
    ETHICAL ISSUES IN BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING

    September 28-29, 1997
    Clemson University
    Clemson, South Carolina, USA

    The First International Conference on Ethical Issues in Biomedical
    Engineering will be held at Clemson University immediately following the
    Annual Meeting of the American Society of Biomechanics. This meeting will
    be co-sponsored by major bioengineering and professional ethics societies,
    and the Bioengineering Alliance of South Carolina.

    Suggested Topics for Presentation
    * A Code of Ethics for Bioengineers
    * Clinical Trials of Biomedical Devices and Implants
    * Conflicts of Interest in Bioengineering Research and
    Practice
    * Ethical Concerns in Medical Informatics
    * Ethical Issues in Clinical Engineering
    * Ethical Issues in Genetic Engineering and Cloning
    * Ethical Questions in Bioengineering Research
    * Ethics of Technology Introduction
    * Resource Allocation for Health Care Delivery
    * Use of Animals in the Testing of Medical Devices

    The abstracts are limited to a single page (approximately 500 words) with
    one inch margins. Please submit abstracts to:
