    TENURE-ELIGIBLE FACULTY POSITION: BIOMECHANICS
    PROGRAMS IN PHYSICAL THERAPY
    NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY

Applications are invited for a full-time, tenure-eligible faculty position
in biomechanics. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and
maintain an independent, externally funded line of research and to teach
biomechanics-related courses in the current Master of Science and Master of
Physical Therapy programs. Service on department, school and university is
    expected.

Applicants must have a doctoral degree in biomechanics and demonstrate
excellence in academic teaching and research, including a consistent
publication record. Post-doctoral experience is strongly preferred for
junior candidates, with evidence of strong potential for future development
as a teacher and researcher. Senior candidates should have a history as
principle investigator on externally-funded grants and experience mentoring
graduate students. Applicants should be interested in the application of
biomechanics to abnormal as well as normal motor control. A PT degree is
    desirable, but not essential.

The Programs in Physical Therapy have new state-of-the-art teaching
facilities and research laboratories, including two dedicated to motion
analysis. Technical support for teaching and research activities is
excellent. We are located on the downtown Chicago campus of the
Northwestern University Medical School, near Lake Michigan in the heart of
Chicago's Gold Coast. Northwestern University, which has a large and
internationally known group of faculty with expertise in theoretical and
applied motor neuroscience, motor learning, biomechanics and
rehabilitation, offers an especially stimulating intellectual environment
for scholars interested in movement science. Opportunities exist for
collaborations within physical pherapy as well as other academic and
clinical departments (engineering, rehabilitation medicine, neuroscience,
    orthopedics etc.).

This position is a full-time, twelve month, tenure-eligible appointment.
Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with credentials and
    experience.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. The
application process will be confidential. Please send a complete CV and
