Subject: Displacement transducer for swimming analysis

Just a quick inquiry to ask if anyone has some ideas:
I need to develop a system that determines the displacement of a swimmer in
respect to the wall during starts and turns. We currently use a system that
allows us to do this in in-depth analysis, but we need instantaneous feedback
during training sessions and therefore would like to be able to avoid going to
the video. We are able to determine time easily enough, but a quick-fire method
to determining displacement will also needed.

If you have any suggestions I would be delighted to hear them.

    Thanking you
