Dear Biomch-l Readers,
VIII International Symposium on Biomechanics and Medicine in Swimming
will be held at the University of Jyvaskyla, in Jyvaskyla, Finland June 28 -
July 2, 1998. The main organizers are the Department of Biology of Physical
Activity of the University of Jyvaskyla in collaboration with the Finnish
Swimming Association. .
Participants are invited to submit abstracts of proposals for podium and
poster presentations at the Symposium. Participants are also invited
to submit proposals for pool-side demonstrations.
A technical exhibition will be arranged on the Symposium Site. It will
be open to manufacturers of sports, medical and scientific equipment,
to pharmaceutical and software companies and scientific publishers.
There will is also be some pool time for demonstrations.
The Archimedes Award will be granted to a young scientist in the field
of Biomechanics and Medicine in Swimming. The most outstanding
presentations in both Podium and Poster categories will be awarded by
the symposium organizers.
