    POSTDOCTORAL POSITION: BIOMECHANICS

    The Biomechanics research group in the Department of Mechanical
    Engineering at Queen s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada
    has an opening for a postdoctoral research fellow for one or
    both of two projects beginning this fall.

    The projects relate to design of a replacement arthroplasty for
    wrists affected by rheumatoid arthritis, and to establishment of
    a laboratory for biomechanical testing of the spine in pregnant
    women. Previous experience with electromyography will be an asset.

    An engineering background is required (mechanical, electrical,
    biomedical, or equivalent). The ability to communicate effectively
    in spoken and written English is essential.

    The position starts October 1, 1997, nominally for one year at a
    salary between $30,000 and $33,000 Canadian.
