Position: Assistant Professor of Physical Education
Type of Appointment: Full-time, Probationary tenure track teaching position
available in the Department of Physical Education, Health and Sport
Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Physical Education preferred, ABD in
Physical Education required. Terminal degree required for consideration of
tenure. The successful candidate will possess the following: 1) a strong
background in physical education, 2) demonstrated success in teaching, and 3
) demonstrated ability to teach biomechanics. Experience teaching primary
or secondary physical education is preferred. All applicants must be able
to lawfully accept employment in the United States at the time of offer.
Responsibilities: Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate
kinesiology and graduate sport biomechanics. Other teaching
responsibilities will be based on qualifications, background, experience,
interest and departmental needs. Responsibilities in addition to teaching
will include departmental committee work and advising of students.
Evaluation will be based on: effectiveness of instruction, scholarship,
continuing preparation, contributions to student growth and development, and
service to the community and region.
Salary: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
