    My experience with muscle tears is that they are commonly not in the
    contractile tissue proper. They tend to be in the junctional zones.
    Typically, where muscle is transitioning to tendon and where tendon
    is transitioning to bone.

    It has been my experience that later in an activity is when injury
    occures. This appears to be secondary to fatigue and
    substitutions. When we tire we alter the movements in some way and
    this places tissues at risk.
