    Foundation lecturer in Biomedical Engineering (microengineeting programme).

    Applications are invited from well qualified and experienced postdoctoral
    candidates for the post of Foundation Fund Lecturer in Biomedical
    Engineering, as part of a multi-million pounds development in Health and
    Medical Sciences within the University of Surrey.

    The Biomedical Engineering Group, within the School of Mechanical and
    Materials Engineering, has a strong interest in the application of
    Electrical Stimulation techniques to rehabilitation of people with
    neuromuscular disabilities and recently has been developing a leading edge
    research programme in microengineered neural interface implantation.

    This appointment, initially for 3 years, is intended to support and expand
    the continued growth of the microengineering activity.

    Applicants must have a good first degree in Electronic Engineering, or in
    Physics with a strong electronics component and a PhD or equivalent. They
    should be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of electronic circuit
    design, preferably related to semiconductor microengineering. A publications
    track record in quality scientific journals would be expected.
