MUSCULOSKELETAL REHABILITATION
Senior Lecturer/ Lecturer
Limited Term (Convertible) Appointment 5 years
The Department of Biomedical Science offers undergraduate and postgraduate
research and course work programs in the areas of Biomedical Science,
Exercise Science/Human Movement Science and Nutrition and Dietetics. A
suitably qualified Physiotherapist or Exercise Physiologist is required to
contribute to the department's Exercise Science and Human Movement Science
programs in the area of Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation, commencing January
1998.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of a strong
theoretical and practical skill base in musculoskeletal rehabilitation with
an emphasis on the use of exercise, for the Department's 3rd and 4th year
undergraduate students. The successful candidate would be expected to teach
in areas such as Exercise Rehabilitation, Musculoskeletal Functional
Anatomy, Exercise Prescription, Exercise for Special Populations, Motor
Control and Dysfunction as well as supervise student practical placements.
The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the ongoing
development of the department's Exercise Science and Rehabilitation Clinic
and clinical placement and research programs.
Applicants must possess a professional clinical degree and/or a PhD in a
relevant discipline. Applicants with a PhD program close to completion will
be considered. The successful applicant must have extensive clinical
experience in the area of musculoskeletal rehabilitation with an emphasis on
exercise, an ability to teach at the tertiary level and effective research
communication skills.
It would be advantageous for candidates to have an ability to attract
external grant funding and to possess experience in the supervision of
postgraduate students. It is also desirable for candidates to have
demonstrated research potential in areas such as musculoskeletal functional
anatomy, exercise prescription, musculoskeletal rehabilitation and exercise
physiology.

depending upon experience and qualifications. Annual Salary: Senior Lecturer
$56,449 - $65,091; Lecturer: $46,081 - $54,722. Superannuation is an
