RE: DIAGNOSIS OF NSAID_INDUCED GASTRIC MUCOSAL DAMAGE
We are attempting to identify databases for a study of gastropathy
associated with antiarthritic medication. The object of the study is to
find a combination of early signs and symptoms that would warn of an
impending crisis. Ideally, the database(s) would track a population being
treated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for rheumatism
and arthritis. The specific NSAIDs of interest are, ASA, diclofenac, ibup-
rofen, and naproxen. To be useful, the database(s) would contain a sign-
ificant number of records instancing gastro-intestinal bleeding resulting
in hospitalization or death.
